Testimonials

Hi Alison

New enclosure all finished and rubber chippings all done. Looks fab. The hens love the chippings when its warm as they seem to hold the heat. They are positively sunbathing!

Many thanks

How to prepare the hen pen

Cut the mesh to rougly fit the pen and then you can trim the edges as you go. If the pen is wider than one strip of mesh, make sure there is a good overlap otherwise the edges can drift apart with wear.

The mesh can be laid straight down on the mud. It is designed not to let the mud up, so will start acting immediately, There is no need to wait for the pen to dry out first.

Once the mesh is in place put the rubber chippings down to a thickness of about 4cm and that is all there is to it!
