Hiya Alison,
I have recieved the mesh and rubber...the weather was so bad I had to move the chickens. But that meant I could put the mesh and rubber in place and the chickens love scratching around in it and it provides good drainage.
Kindest Regards and thankyou so much for your help

How to prepare the duck pen
The method of prepartion for a duck pen will be exactly the same as for a hen pen, unless there is a pond area. If there is a pond, the pond edge will need an edge around it to stop the rubber chippings falling into the pond. Galvanised edging roll is ideal as it is very quick to install.

Once you have secured the edges, cut the mesh to rougly fit the pen and then you can trim the edges as you go. If the pen is wider than one strip of mesh, make sure there is a good overlap otherwise the edges can drift apart with wear.

The mesh can be laid straight down on the mud. It is designed not to let the mud up, so will start acting immediately, There is no need to wait for the pen to dry out first.

Once the mesh is in place put the rubber chippings down to a thickness of about 4cm and that is all there is to it!
